Booking # 198: Jungle Jungle @ Razzmatazz, Barcelona, Spain

Its an amazing feeling walking around a city nearly 4,000 miles from home and seeing your name all over.  Its surreal, and exciting.  This was my first international gig... The venue was THE venue in Barcelona for music, Razzmatazz.  Huge 5 room club, we were only in 1 part of the club, the loft, but there were at least 300 people in the room and outside smoking.  The pictures hardly do it justice, it was a very long venue with pockets of darkness, overall very busy night.  I played 3-4, the prime slot for this area which appears to go from 12-6AM, they go late!  There was another DnB party that let out at 3:00 which brought alot of people to this night.  It was packed for my set and the reaction was excellent.  I played deeper for the first half, then picked it up and went harder and darker for the 2nd half of my hour.  They appreciated both style but might have felt the harder stuff more.  Great vibes, and I got great feedback after my set.  The promoters were absolutely awesome, great vibe, great party.  I really loved this city and I really want to come back.  Thank you Barcelona!  See you again Spain, very soon!

Booking # 197: Liquid Love @ Camouflage NYC

Unfortunately Camouflage is not at Sullivan Room anymore, but they have moved to the Porch, which is a venue i like alot.  Nice chill first floor, i got to play deep, lots of vocal liquid tunes, good vibes in the place although not everyone was there to dance.  I got a good reaction for my set, and as always its a pleasure to play for Camouflage.  Dj Strife played a very good set as usual, we both played the Alicia Keys Lenzman RMX, but I did not know until after i played it.  That's what i get for not being there to listen to her whole set!  Big up Strife for the quality as usual!

Booking # 196: Torque, Orlando Florida

Really glad to finally play Torque.  These guys are one of America's longest running DnB parties.  They have a good crowd that is very into the music.  This was a fun night, although there was a technical issue for the first 10 minutes of my set, but we moved past that fast.  Good vibes, decent sound, nice bar.  Cool gig, thanks to the crew!

Booking # 195: The Melody Inn, Indianapolis, Indiana

Weird night.  Really fun to be in Indy and get in the studio with the latest Driven AM member, Dave Owen!  Are some excellent food at Yats and had my first taste of Shake and Steak.  The gig was at a strange bar.. it was dark, dirty, very local, loud, cheap, and was generally filled with people who know each other.  One of the opening DJ's was playing very hard dark DnB at a fast tempo, so I figured i could roll out with some harder funky stuff.  I did not get much of a reaction to the harder stuff i opened with, so i switched gears and moved into the halftime realm.  Immediately they reacted to it, i could see people at the bar, at first not really paying attention, slowly start to move.  Seeing them react to the deeper stranger smaller stuff pushed me keep testing the boundaries, and the deeper i pushed the more they reacted, until i noticed it was near the end of my hour and i built it back up.  Dave Owen - 'Sucker Love' is a tune that always seems to get people dancing, and with a few random movement tunes and others by the end of my hour people were on the dancefloor having a great time.  I only wish i had another hour!  The people i met were very cool and commented on my skill and selection which was nice.  So glad i got the chance to play Indy, its not often a crowd reacts more to the small stuff than the big stuff, and thankfully i'm well versed in the small stuff!  Thanks to Dave Owen and the crew!

Booking # 194: Cleveland, Ohio: Bside Lounge

Loved this gig!  Cleveland is a great city to play, this was my 2nd time there.  I really like the crew, big up Dom and the rest, such a pleasure to work with them.  The pictures do not do justice to the vibe of the party, they were taken basically a the end of my set, the place it wide rather thank long so its a bit misleading.  The vibe was biiig.  I got to play about 2 hours and took my set all over the place, from vocal liquid rollers to harder halftime tunes and alot in between.  Was a deep funky set that i was very very happy with.  The crowd was with me the entire time, which felt really good, always dancing, always reacting to the tune in particular.  The other Dj's were playing good music, and the venue was really cool, i'd love to be back there.  Thanks Cleveland, see you soon!

Booking # 193 Liquid, San Diego - Driven AM Showcase

Third time playing @ Liquid, but it was our first Driven AM Showcase.  Love this place!  Always a good vibe and a packed crowd.  I've said before it feels like a Saturday night party because the vibe is so think and people and dancing so hard!  Slight technical issues at first, but i settled in and played a good set, the hour went by way to fast.  This particular crowd did not react to the halftime stuff nearly as much as the other crowds i've played for but that was expected, so i mainly played deeper funky liquid tunes.  Had friends and family there to see me as i always have when in San Diego so it was a great experience.  Also super fun to play another show with my good friend Mixmaster Doc, he played a great set as usual.  See you again soon San Diego!!!

Booking # 122: Respect, LA - Driven AM Showcase

Wow!  Respect LA is one if, if not the best Drum and Bass night in America.  Going strong for around 10 years, these guys are on the top of their game.  They have a big following, every time I've been here its been packed.  They have a true venue and sound system, 1-2 room plus an outdoor bar which is awesome.  It is always an absolute pleasure to work with them.  This night was special for a few reasons.  It was the first official Driven AM showcase promoted as such at Respect and in LA.  Mixmaster Doc and myself represented the crew.  It was the first of 2 shows on the west coast for Doc and I, such a great time seeing the cities with good friends.  This was also the best time slot i've ever had at Respect.  I got to play 11:20-12:30, right before Doc went on.  As i mentioned this place is always packed and this night was no exception, great crowd, responsive to lots of different styles, bass heavy music in general was truly appreciated.  I was very happy with my set, the sound and equipment was perfect so I was really able to let loose and focus on the music.  I started a bit harder than usual and rolled it out for a bit before bringing it down with some halftime stuff, then i brought it back up again with some melodic funky rollers (Random Movement - Waterlogged; Dave Owen - Sucker Love; Eveson - Marley).  Fun diverse set, as usual.

The vibe after my set was memorable.  At least 25 people came up to me telling me they loved my set and thanking me for helping to make the event happen.  Met alot of new people, very cool vibes in there, certainly the best LA experience i've ever had.  MMDoc played from 12:30 - 2 and focused most of his set on his own original tunes.  Awesome experience to see a packed club vibing to doc's original tunes and his many collaborations.  We were all very happy with the night.  Good opening set by Clutch too.  Much RESPECT to the Respect crew, lots of love from the Driven AM family, see you again soon!

Another great 'One Family'!  Very good crowd, great diverse music, and the vibe was excellent.  I got to play a late night set from about 3-4:30am, super late, lots of fun.  Big up the Hellfire Machina guys, always a pleasure to work with them!
