Booking # 190: Konkrete Jungle NYC
KJ was at Stay for just a month or so, nice little club. The downstairs is small but there is room to dance and the sound was quite good. Dave Q played a really interested set before me ranging from 14-160BPM or so. I played alot of halftime stuff, harder darker smaller stuff, and some bigger rolling dark tunes. Not a very big crowd, but good for a Monday. Thanks to the heads that came out to see me. Big up KJ!

Booking # 188: Driven AM Showcase @ Camouflage NYC
The best nights for me are always the Driven AM showcases, nothing like the family getting together. Musically you cant get any better. This night was special because it was the Camouflage NYC debut of Random Movement, who has played most of the other NYC parties. I was also very happy to tag with Dj Strife, as i often do. It seems with time, we keep growing together musically, we're both playing a similar style of deep funky tunes, with strong basslines, sometimes hard, sometimes a bit more mellow. We're able to follow each other very well and its always fun playing tunes for tunes with another talented DJ. She's the only person i've DJ's alongside regularly and I hope i can continue to do so for a while. Our set was about 80 minutes and was alot of fun. Random Movement and Raw Q were their usual excellent selves. Thanks to Camouflage!!!

Interview & Mix for Knowledge Magazine
"With a lot of attention being focused at North American drum & bass the past few years, NYC based Driven AM has been the backbone for many up-and-coming US based producers, not only as a management company, but now as a record label and production company as well. We sat down with the man behind Driven, Dave Shichman , for a look into the present and future of the organization..."

Booking # 187: Revolution of Bass, Brooklyn 9/24/10
I've been working with the Hellfire Machina guys for a while now, i've had them play Direct Drive a few times, always enjoy their music. Recently we have been working on events together, including the upcoming "One Family" party at Sullivan Room. They asked if i wanted to play this party of Revolution of Bass in Brooklyn, and opportunity i jumped on. The venue was a large top floor space in Greenpoint, main room indoors, 2nd room ourdoor. I walked in and saw MC Posi-D rocking the mic, which is always nice to see. The main room was big with a great system, but it was such a nice night that most people were outside, which is where i wanted to play. I ended up having to play outside because of technical issues. I played from 4-5AM. which is a bit late for me, and one of the latter sets i've played in NYC not including New Years Eve shows, but it was great. Lots of people dancing, excellent weather, overlooking a small bridge, it was a perfect evening. I played a bit harder and alot more halftime due to it being a mostly dubstep party. They loved my set, i got excellent feedback. Being on the roof, near the highway bridge, there was some dust and i had to stop and clean off the dust and needles once or twice, so it was not the best technical set i've ever had, but it did not matter. The vibe was there and everyone had a good time. Much respect to the Hellfire Machina guys, also Nebula for the assistance, and for a great set! Big up guys!
Booking # 186: Driven AM Showcase @ Camouflage, NYC
This was my 2nd time playing for Camouflage @ Sullivan Room which is always fun because that book is my favorite in NYC! The sound system is huge here, so i always try and play to the room. Really had a good time. I played my usual diverse DnB set, liquid, halftime, deep stuff, moments of harder tunes here and there. I think the crowd really liked it, got some good feedback. It was a slower night than usual, but it that happens. The next time we play here will be with Random Movement and other, it will be huge. Dj Seen played an excellent deep hard dancefloor set, fun stuff. Many thanks to Christian Bruna!
Booking # 185: Bass & Destroy at Fat Buddha, NYC 9/5/10
Fat Buddha is Direct Drive's new home! But its something different that where Direct Drive has been over the past 11 years. The new owner of the amazing lounge is Dj seoul, which means the music here is spot on. The vibe is also there, and the food is fantastic. Its asian fusion at its best. Amazing Salt and Pepper Squid and the Pork Belly is a must try! I absolutely love this place!
I played 2 sets here this night. The first set for about 2 hours was all bass music, 2step, dubstep, halfstep, breaks, little bit of DnB, etc. I really stretched it out and had fun, very diverse set, ups and downs. It was great to have serato and my computer with me, and be able to really dig deep. Dj Seoul went on for a few hours and played hip hop and classic dnb. I sat and ate excellent food with friends. They just installed a new bass bin, so the sound in that place is quite good. After a few hours i went back on and played the same style as before, a mix up of all genres. Then Dj Seoul mentioned that there was a wedding party that would be coming in at about 1:00. I looked up about then, and the place was packed, with a very diverse crowd. I switched it up and started playing pop. MJ, Beyonce, etc. I DJ at the holiday party each year for the organization I work for, so my lap top is loaded up with pop. I also played a lot of old school and 90's hop hip. The crowd loved it, everyone was dancing and I had a really fun time. Looking forward to playing a diverse set again soon at Fat Buddha!
