Booking # 185: Bass & Destroy at Fat Buddha, NYC 9/5/10

Fat Buddha is Direct Drive's new home!  But its something different that where Direct Drive has been over the past 11 years.  The new owner of the amazing lounge is Dj seoul, which means the music here is spot on.  The vibe is also there, and the food is fantastic.  Its asian fusion at its best.  Amazing Salt and Pepper Squid and the Pork Belly is a must try! I absolutely love this place!

I played 2 sets here this night.  The first set for about 2 hours was all bass music, 2step, dubstep, halfstep, breaks, little bit of DnB, etc.  I really stretched it out and had fun, very diverse set, ups and downs.  It was great to have serato and my computer with me, and be able to really dig deep.  Dj Seoul went on for a few hours and played hip hop and classic dnb.  I sat and ate excellent food with friends.  They just installed a new bass bin, so the sound in that place is quite good.  After a few hours i went back on and played the same style as before, a mix up of all genres.  Then Dj Seoul mentioned that there was a wedding party that would be coming in at about 1:00.  I looked up about then, and the place was packed, with a very diverse crowd.  I switched it up and started playing pop.  MJ, Beyonce, etc.  I DJ at the holiday party each year for the organization I work for, so my lap top is loaded up with pop.  I also played a lot of old school and 90's hop hip.  The crowd loved it, everyone was dancing and I had a really fun time.  Looking forward to playing a diverse set again soon at Fat Buddha!
